Jean-Philippe,

Thanks for the information. The screen settings don't have any affect on
whether the plug-in is running or not. The problem is that the keystroke
which triggers the plug-in isn't working properly. This is either because
JAWS is sending the wrong keystroke, or Sibelius has the wrong keystroke
stored in its command set file (that's what Sibelius calls a keymap file).

Tim and I have talked a lot about using a different keystroke. We settled
on ALT+CONTROL+SHIFT+0 because we're 99% certain that this keystroke will
have the same keycodes on all keyboards. This might seem like a rather
strange one to go for, but I need to keep certain keystrokes available for
future developments.

Just to make sure, I'm rescripting the function that passes the keystroke on
so that users will be able to modify the keystroke from the JAWS keyboard
manager. This means that if you add the keystroke in the keyboard manager
and the Sibelius preferences dialog, there should be no issue about the two
applications having a different keystroke.

In the mean time, I need to check that you have the right things entered in
the right places. Can you do the following for me.

1. From Sibelius press Insert+0 to open the script manager.
2. Open the Sibelius5Constants.JSH file.
(If your script files are stored in the all users folder then you'll need to
use the file > open shared file option.)
3. Search for the line including the text "cksDescribe. It should look like
this:
cksDescribePlugin= "Control+Alt+Shift+0", ; keystroke for calling the
plug-in
4. Copy this line to the clipboard and paste it into an email.
5. Close the script manager. Choose No if the manager asks you to save any
changes.
6. In Sibelius, open the preferences dialog and go to the menus and
shortcuts page.
7. In the "menu or category" list choose "plug-ins".
8. In the feature list choose Access.
9. Press INSERT+CONTROL+W. JAWS should say "virtualising window".
10. The virtual viewer will open with a large amount of information in it.
Copy all this to the clipboard and then paste it into the same email.
11. If you create the email by choosing reply, make sure that you delete any
previous posts from the bottom of the email, including this one. You need
to do this because you'll be sending a lot of information and there is a 50
line limit on the size of messages that the list will accept.

Many thanks for your patients,

Dan Rugman
