Vytautas,

It sounds like the plug-in is running slowly.

How complicated is the score you're working on. Does it have a lot of
staves?

Does it get any faster if you increase the zoom level all the way up to
1600%?

The zoom level 400 doesn't change the speed. But when I disable the plug-in
(it's the one you dsable with Control+`, Right?), the response is faster but
then JAWS doesn't say the note name. Also sometimes when I navigate with
the plug-in enabled, I get this stop plug-in dialogue with the "stop!"
button, but itt's something that is just spoken in one or two arrow-key
presses or tabs, and doesn't affect my navigation; but it's actually on the
screen for a few seconds.

Vytautas,

What is the zoom level of the score?
Try pressing ALT+EQUALS to set the zoom level to 400%.
Does it make a difference?

Also, could you try disabling the plug-in and then navigating in the score.
It would help to know if things are still running slowly when the plug-in is
not active.

Yes, with JAWS unloaded there is no problem. And I just tried it out with
JAWS 9, it's a bit faster: a bit under 1 second instead of 2-4 seconds.

Also, in case this may influence things, I was just forced to switch to a
Toshiba Portege r500, which is said to be a very fancy laptop but has only
1.2 CPU and 1 giga ram.

Always the case.  Only sometimes it's a bit faster sometimes a bit slower;
when it's slower, the tones are longer when I arrow onto a note.

Try unloading and reloading JAWS. Also, how many and what other apps are
open? Did this start recently , or was it always the case from the first
day you installed Sib Access? Kevin

Hi Sibelians,

I was wondering if the following occurrences I am getting while editing my
scores is normal or not; since I don't seem to hear much about people having
this issue, it's possible that I am missing something (which would be
wonderful considering that one could fix this instantly). As I navigate and
insert notes and so on, the response is often very slow;a good few seconds
elapse between arrowing onto an item and hearing it or about it from JAWS.
It results that it takes me about 5-10 minutes to edit one bar. Is this a
frequent issue of beta releases that will go away eventually, or am I doing
something wrong or not doing something necessary. I thought I've seen
someone else mention a similar issue either here or on Midimag, but can't
find the message, so I thought it would be good if I asked again.

Many Thanks in advance,

Cheers

Vytautas
