Oliver,

I've seen past messages that say it's beneficial to use an external USB
keyboard on a laptop. Set the keyboard layout in JAWS to desktop, and set
the keyboard language to English - U.K.

Perhaps this will solve your problem with the laptop.

Dave

Subject: [sib-access] a new fix tool window problem

Hi all,

once again i have a problem almost such as i had it on my computer:

this time it is a notebook wich is equipted with windows xp mediacenter and
servicepack 3. it has an integrated numpad and jaws v. 9.xxx. sibelius
newest version english. Oh, i vorgot to tell its german windows.

i installed the sibaccess as desired. after opening sibelius the message
came that the toolwindow need fixing. I did all i did on my device, such as
changing the letter m to x within the sibeliius script .. typekey ("x").
also i opened the prefferences dialog and put the hotkey as mentioned in
this list. also i installed a keyboardlayout english gb. no i experience the
following very funny thing:

when trying to manually open or close the keypad by pressing ctrl+alt+k, it
works. also it does with properties. but not with playback. when using an
english leyout the state is reported but no change is made. when changing to
the german layout the state is changed but not spoken, what could this be?

annother thing seems to be possibly interfeering into this item: this
computer starts with the classic user not with the possibility for fast
change. I cannot change this untill i would take of a client for netware
network clients. I am not sure, but it seems to make a difference, because i
discovered that when i want to shoot down the system i would have to press
windowskey than r instead of a to shoot down.

thanks for your good ideas in advance,

ciao,

Oliver
