The resolution recomendation I got earlier was not about resolution of 
1024x768 but rather correcting the colour property from "high (32 bit)" to 
"middle (16 bit)". I am told that this will fix the problem of delayed note 
announcements.

And about my friend's problem, we also thought that jaws difference is 
causing problem. I'll wait Dan or Tim to answer these questions as well 
though before doing something about it but running his reg files seemed like 
a reasonable suggestion.
