Oh, that's too easy. I want things to be complicated.

But of course you're right.

On the other hand, you could just start Sibelius 5 and use the open dialog!

Okay, when I get Sib 6 and install, I'll see if I can mess with the
'sibelius.exe' filename to make it different, then re-initialize the file
types association.

Who knows? maybe that will work, or maybe it will totally bollix things.

Dave,

If you mean the "file types" page of the folder options dialog in the tools
menu then it won't work. There is only one option for Sibelius, and even if
you browse to Sibelius 5 Windows will still use Sibelius 6. I'm not sure,
but I think the file associations feature is based on the executable name,
which is always Sibelius.exe, regardless of the version number.

However you should be able to use the File Types dialog in Windows Explorer
to set the various extensions to be monitored by Sib 5.

It will be Sib6, since this is the last version to be installed.

If you open a file from, say, Windows Explorer, which version of Sibelius
opens?

For the record, I installed Sibelius 6, and version 5 still works normally,
both on the same machine.
