That's an ISM frequency (Industrial Scientific Medical) set aside (by the
Federal Communications Commission in the USA) for unlicensed equipment to
operate on, sometimes with considerable power and/or EM radiation.  These
bands allows use of the spectrum without interfering with communications
or requiring excessively expensive shielding.  There are other ISM bands,
such as 915 MHz and elsewhere.
