Hi Mark, Jackson's book is the standard text for electrodynamics in physics = graduate courses. You might want to try a different book with the same title, "Classical = Electrodynamics" by Hans Ohanian. This text parallels Jackson's book, = but at an undergraduate level. It is still very rigorous in its physics = approach, just without the graduate-level math.
