[SI-LIST] preferred math package?

For basic SI analysis and tool development, does anyone
have a preference for mathematical packages?  e.g.,
MatLab, MathCad, Mathematica, ...???

I'd be interested in perspectives of ease of use, integration
with other tools, ability to customize, ...
