All, First of all, we at Teraspeed® Consulting and Teraspeed® Labs have no financial interest in the following product, however from time to time list members have asked about software capable of processing S-parameters and displaying differential mixed-mode s-parameters. A little company in the UK called Ark RF systems has some S-parameter capture and analysis software that now includes mixed-mode conversions and display for any multiple of 4 single ended ports in a Touchstone file.. We've been using their software for 2-port VNA control and S-parameter display and processing for years and asked them to include mixed-mode conversions into their product. In about a week, Andy had integrated the functionality in their latest release. For those of you who are true mixed-mode geeks, this new addition to their product is pretty darn cool. They have an evaluation version of the program that shows most of the features available, but unfortunatly not the mixed-mode s-parameter conversions and display. But, the actual software is really inexpensive if you do not need to control a VNA. With it you can view and perform some post processing on Touchsone S-parameter files of pretty much any size and number of ports up to 98. If you do have a 2-port VNA, then their interface provides seamless control, along with the capability of turning a 2-port VNA into an N-port S-parameter extraction machine. We commonly use ours for 4-port measurements, and it is fully capable of performing extractions of as large a number of ports as your patience and calibration will allow.
