This is contrary to what I would expect - it doesn't make sense to me. =
And, based on the lack of other responses, is contrary to what others =
would expect.

The only time I can see using this configuration would be during =
measurements, when I want to carefully control exactly where traces are =
allowed to couple. At the launch point it might be necessary to use =
this configuration to coincide with a probe configuration. At other =
points I would merely separate the traces. =20

Subject: [SI-LIST] inner Xtalk of a differential pair

Guru,

I have seen some designers try hard and prefer to reduce (single-ended) =
=3D
Xtalk between two trace within a differential pair, sometimes by using =
=3D
GSGSG configuration. Obviously, this is not because of a routing =3D
concerns, it is an electrical consideration. Are there any reasons from =
=3D
electrical point of view ? Let's assume symmetric pair. =3D20

Thanks,

Mick
