Hi Ajay, Best thing would be to quantify with simulations. What is level of isolation are you looking between the radio? Generally we expect it to be around -18 to 20 dB. Also you should pay attention to radiation pattern of the antennae based on intended area coverage. GPS should be given higher priority because the signal strength will be very low given to the atmospheric attenuation of satellite signals. And regarding your question "... placement, we are thinking placing GPS antenna on the bottom layer. Would that help in improving the performance of antennas and avoiding interference?" make sure that no obstruction of components are present above the bottom layer, especially metallic parts. Due to space constraints, both antenna are placed very close to each other. The center to center distance between two antenna is around 14.5mm. I seek answer to the following: - What would be the affect of the such close placement of the antennas on their performance? Is it permissible? Pls. clarify. - We cannot increase the size of the PCB. One of the alternative placement, we are thinking placing GPS antenna on the bottom layer. Would that help in improving the performance of antennas and avoiding interference? Thanks in advance.
