Hi:

I think we can intuitively explain why there is more coupling between
narrower strips than wider strips in general.

Cross-Section of Two Wider Coupled Strips

       ========    ========
           |          |
        average     average
         center      center

Cross-section of Two Narrower Coupled Strips

           ====    ====
             |      |
        average    average
         center    center

We can think we can find an average center of the current flowing on a
trace. The average center should be slightly off the center and toward the
coupled edge. When the gap width is fixed, you can see the distance between
the average centers of the two narrower strips is smaller than that of the
two wider strips. Then, we should expect more coupling between the two
narrower strips.
