Two Visual Basic 6 Public Domain Programs  (including source code) are
offered on the web site to assist with Cadence Device Check and Mentor
Graphics EPD Library Parts Creation.

The zip files include an EXE install setup program for Windows.

The fact that Mentor Graphics has a Text based symbol makes it a very
good choice of a schematic capture tool for those newly considering a
front end tool for PCB designs. The one caviot,  the file pointed to in
the INI file of the EPD Librarian Part Maker program needs to be a
symbol part initially made by your EPD software. (has a "magic" number,
see documentation in PDF file.)  You can import a spreadsheet for part
pin numbers. Also great for making alphanumerically numbered connectors
too.
