Andrew: =20 If you look at Hspice maual ( page 4-35) in document " Hspice analysis and simulation user guide" ( version 2004.03), it says:=20 Td: signal delay from transmission line, in seconds per meter L : physical length of the transmission line, in units of meters. Default =3D1 =20 I also did a simple spice simulation, first define T element as : TXtline near vss far vss Z0=3D50 Td=3D5n , total delays is 5n =20 next define T element as: =20 TXtline near vss far vss Z0=3D50 L=3D2 Td=3D5n , total delays is = 10n Since the default value of L is 1 meter, that why Td "looks like" the total delay of the transmission line. I ask this " scale" question because I find out in some cases, scale option affects Td but not affects L.=20 Thanks, Jing=20 -----Original Message----- From: si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andrew Ingraham Sent: Saturday, May 28, 2005 6:48 PM To: si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [SI-LIST] Re: Scale option in Hspice It affects length, not time. T-elements have no "length". The delay you specify is the total delay, not the delay per length. In your case it is 5ns, period. In my opinion, the "scale" option is one of the more dangerous features in Hspice.
