Ray, I just want to thank you for all the work you've done in the background
to sustain the list, and all of your comments both technical and
philosophical (like keeping the list members on a somewhat even keel) that
we've seen over the years. You've done an invaluable service to all SI
Engingeers. I certainly hope this temporary turn of events doesn't impact
any of that.
If Sun doesn't appreciate your efforts, know that the rest of the world
(literally) does.
I'm reminded of a Scott McMorrowism:
"You can work for someone else and have the illusion of security, or work
for yourself and have the illusion of freedom."

As of today, it appears that I now have 'free-agent' status due to the
fact that I got caught up in Sun's latest RIF of 3000 people.
