Hi Kedar, Normally a wave launched through a trace tends to double at the receiver end because of reflections. The reflection is a cause of mismatch between the trace impedance and the input impedance of the receiver. I hope there is a lot of information on this scattered all over the internet. As a analogy, I would compare a matched trace to that of a sandy beach. The waves hitting the beach is subdued by the sandy shore which is a sort of matching. On the other hand a mismatched trace can be compared to that of a rocky beach where the sea waves face a sudden and abrupt change as they hit the shore. Hence it splashes as high as it can....
