I have tried that, but S21total=S21A+S21B is not the right answer for a
paralleled two port network. It is correct for Y parameters though
(Y21total=Y21a+Y21b).

I've been engaged with a discussion with a coworker about how to calculate the
S parameters of a set of paralleled two port networks using signal flow
diagrams. The way I've always done it is to convert to Y parameters, sum them,
and convert the final result back to S parameters, as shown in Pozar and other
books. I've also used signal flow diagrams to calculate S parameters of serial
networks, like a VNA error box, and I'm comfortable with that. However, we're
both having trouble coming up with a simple way to represent a set of parallel
networks or a complex set of networks connected in a signal flow diagram using
just the S parameters. Does anybody have any example cases? I can't seem to
find any on the web or IEEE papers.
