Hi,

does any one know of an equation to estimate the inductance for the package
balls?

One way is to approximate the balls as vias (averaging the radii, to
approximate the via radius) and then using the equations for via inductance
given by Howard Johnson in his book for a single return path, which will be
the nearest VSS ball. But I am not very sure as to how close this value will
be.

Are there any other equations or a mathematical approach to do the same?

regds,
Mayank
