Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations 
As a member of the RFD MMIC design team, you will design MMIC products
and integrated multifunction microwave circuits. You will be responsible
for generating requirements based on customer needs as well as MMIC
design, test, and layout. As a designer in a team environment, you will
leverage the expertise of other engineering groups and will interact
with foundry personel as well as customer representatives. 

Specific Knowledge/Skills 
* BSEE required, MSEE preferred, RF/Microwave device, circuit or system
concentration, 3-5 yrs experience in RF/Microwave design and
development.
* Design experience required: GaAs Monolithic Microwave Integrated
Circuits (MMICs) (power amplifiers, LNA, switch, phase shifter,
attenuators).
* Specific experience in advanced compound semiconductor technologies
such as GaAs HBT, GaAs pHEMT and GaN HEMT.  Experience with SiGe
technology a plus.
* Must be proficienct in microwave and EM simulation tools such as ADS,
MWO, SONNET (Momentum) and HFSS. EM modeling of high frequency packages
a plus
* Experience in all aspects microwave measurements and calibration
methods (S-parameters, power, noise figure and IMD).
* Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Candidate will need to hold a minimum of a BS degree, MS preferred, in
electrical engineering with 5-10 years relevant work experience. Direct
experience in designing power amplifiers using III-V technologies, or
direct experience working with GaAs MMIC products at the system level is
desired. The applicant must have a strong background in Microwave and RF
engineering, and emphasis on one or several of the following areas is
highly desirable:

- Design, setup and test of application circuits for GaAs MMIC product
portfolio (GPA, LNA, VVA, VGA and linear driver ICs).
- Write application notes and setup technical documentations 
- Interface with customers and partners in person and remotely to aid
designing our products into their applications. 
- Solving technical problems at the customer's bench or in our own lab. 
- Training of field application engineers and educating the sales team. 

Specific Knowledge/Skills 
*BSSE is required with a MSEE preferred.
*Broad technical background in RF-/ Microwave engineering, RF
measurements / test, and RF systems (with focus on cellular phone
standards) is required
The applicant should have at least 5 years of experience with RF related
tasks. 
*Hands-on experience with board level tuning and optimization of
matching networks.  
*High level of experience and understanding of power amplifier, circuit
linearization and high-efficiency design techniques. 
*Microwave measurement techniques (S-parameters, loadpull setups, VNA
calibration techniques, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc).
*Understanding and development of advanced RF/microwave measurement
techniques
*Working knowledge with Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) and
planar electromagnetic solvers (Sonnet's EM and/or Agilent's Momentum)
*Understanding of wireless communication systems and their latest trends
in the industry.
*Solid understanding concerning circuit instability and strategies to
resolve them. 
*The candidate must have good communication skills and be able to
represent Freescale RFD to customers in a technical support role. 
*Business travel inside and outside of the country may be necessary for
this position.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations 
Main responsibilities include the design and development of High Power
RF Transistors for the wireless infrastructure markets. Design work
involves low impedance transistor matching networks including integrated
passives, wire bonds, MOSCAPs, packaging interfaces and PCB board level
matching. The design process uses a combination of measurement based
techniques (e.g. loadpull data, etc) and CAD software with the use of
linear and non-linear models. The design process will make use of
Agilent's ADS, 3D and planar electromagnetic simulation tools. The
position will require for the individual to work closely with device
engineers, product engineers, modeling engineers and manufacturing
personnel for successful and timely product introduction. 

Specific Knowledge/Skills 
Candidate will hold a minimum of a MS degree (PhD is preferred), in
electrical engineering -  physics or related technical field and have
experience in designing high-power RF transistor internal-matching
networks using LDMOS or GaAs HFET technologies. The engineer must have a
strong background on Microwave and RF engineering with an emphasis on
several of the following areas:
* Hands-on experience with board level tuning and optimization of
matching networks. 
* Microwave measurement techniques (S-parameters, loadpull setups, VNA
calibration techniques, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc).
* Understanding and development of advanced RF/microwave measurement
techniques
* Working knowledge with Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) ,
Ansoft's High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and planar
electromagnetic solvers (Sonnet's Em and/or Agilent's Momentum)
* Solid understanding concerning circuit instability and strategies to
resolve them. 
* Strong communication skills
