Hi All, Five companies have proposed a TecForum for DesignCon2003 (January 2003, Santa Clara, CA, see http://www.designcon.com, look for HP-TF2). The title is: MEASUREMENT OF POWER-DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS AND ITS ELEMENTS The five presenting companies in alphabetical order: AVX, GigaTest Lab, Sanmina-SCI, SUN Microsystems, TDA Systems. Quoted from the abstract: "Making the connections on dense printed-circuit boards create probing and fixturing difficulties. The purpose of the TecForum is to explain how to apply the time-domain and frequency-domain measuring methods to characterize power-distribution-network elements, how to choose cables, probes and connections, how to do proper calibrations. Going from low to high frequencies, measurement examples and techniques will be shown to characterize and validate voltage-regulator modules, low-ESR bulk capacitors, high-frequency low-ESL multi-terminal capacitors, printed-circuit-board power/ground planes, as well as complete power-distribution networks." The presentations will be about measurements, primarily with network analyzers and TDR instruments. 'Traditional' oscilloscope measurements, design and simulation questions will be addressed only as far as they may be needed to put the topics listed in the abstract into perspective. If you have any particular question that you would like to be covered within the listed topics, or if you want any of your components or circuits to be measured and possibly displayed, please contact us by e-mail. We cant promise to take all of your requests into account, but we are certainly interested in hearing from you.
