In a previous life (heavy on the report writing) we solved that = particular issue by using sec for the time unit. Thus msec, psec, = (mu)sec*, nsec, etc. * Best represented as usec if you don't have a good way to generate mu = in your keystrokes. And I still remember that the way to generate mu in = WordPerfect (which I haven't used in 10 years) is ctrl-v 6,32 because I = used it so much. So much memory taken up by useless information it's = amazing I can remember anything important. -----Original Message----- From: Gerald Johnson [mailto:gerald.johnson@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, 04 April, 2003 03:42 PM To: si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [SI-LIST] Re: Language conventions Doug, T. L. Jackson is correct. Units are capitalized if they are =20 named after a person (a proper noun). The one that bothers me the most is when I see a usage like "mS" and they meant to describe a unit of time and not a unit of conductance. This is a case where capitalized or not actually completely changes the meaning (s for seconds, S for Siemen).=20 Jerry | Date: Fri, 04 Apr 2003 13:06:27 -0800 | To: si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx | From: Doug Brooks <doug@xxxxxxxxxx> | Subject: [SI-LIST] Language conventions | X-ecartis-version: Ecartis v1.0.0 |=20 |=20 | Hi all, |=20 | I need some help in settling a misunderstanding among some people.
