Hi Jerry and the group,

You probably have a fast scope around and possibly a fast pulse 
generator. If you do, you could probably use these to achieve a TDR 
function since you are not trying to make accurate impedance measurements.

The later Agilent scopes have an output on the front panel furnishing 
a 300 mV pulse with a ~100 ps risetime that might work.
