Helle Prakash, going from DDR2 to DDR3 (commodity on DIMM) the signal integrity of the DDR2 hybrid T bus was not good enough to scale to the required speeds. Therefore one of the improvements to got to 1600Mb/s (on DQ) was to change the Topology on CA and add the Termination on the DIMM. There are some disadvantages (e. g. for controller design and complexity) coming with the flyby bus. There is still the chance to use a DDR2 like tology if: - you have low speed and/or only a limited number of devices. - Your Controller / BIOS supports the different timing to the "standard" Topology (what might be most likely the case, but not necessary given) Regards Hermann EKH - EyeKnowHow Hermann Ruckerbauer www.eyeknowhow.de hermann.ruckerbauer@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Veilchenstrasse 1 94554 Moos Tel.: +49 (0)9938 / 902 083 Mobile: +49 (0)176 / 787 787 77 Fax: +49 (0)721 / 151 258 230 Prakash Mohanraj, TLS-Chennai schrieb: > Hi , > In Most of the DDR 3 design there are used Daisy chain routing for > Address bus.
