Hans,

I disagree.  Hysteresis only slows the system down by the hysteresis 
voltage divided by the signal slew rate.  Hysteresis has been offered in 
fast transceivers for many years and is pretty standard.   Most of the 
discrete bus transceivers out there include 100 - 200mV hysteresis.  And 
it's a good thing, otherwise SSO could be a much worse problem.
