While brutal, I believe the assessment below does have some merit :^) As usual, the real choice between these two tools should be based on what you use them for and how you use them. We've found that both tools are equally capable and accurate (given good models and a reasonable amount of "hands on" time). If you like to batch up large numbers of simulations (to play around with various termination options, for example), you'll want a tool with the capabilities of PCB SI. While it will take you a LOOOONG time to get the models loaded and the sims set up, you will get a bunch of data back. It can be set to flag particular measurement limits, so you can kick it off, and come back later to see if any of the batched sims failed. Great for big, wide busses, where you essentially run the same sim many times. If you use this tool every day, you might even get good at it. Just don't expect to sit down at it once every 6 months or so and remain proficient. If, on the other hand, you like to get quickly to a given sim, and don't mind driving the tool more interactively, Hyperlynx is great. It's easy to set up, actually accepts native IBIS models without translation pain, and is relatively intuitive to use.
