The problem is one of positive feedback.  As we get fewer and fewer
engineering profs who actually understand Ohm's law in its straightforward
form (no matrix notation) it naturally happens that curricula change in the
direction you and others mention.  You can't teach what you don't know, and
you won't teach what you are not familiar with.  I see no end to it.  But
just think of the salary for the last EE left on earth!!  John Prince
