This debate raged on the si-list two years ago in June of 2001. There is
no consensus other than "it depends". Neven Pischl wrote an outstanding
summary of the problem and I saved the text and will send it to you
directly.

Hi All;

I've heard various pros and cons about separating High speed ground (
ground planes used as references or return current paths for high speed
digital signals) from power grounds ( ground planes used for DC return
current paths) . What is the consensus ? Separation with ferrite beads
between the different types joining all grounds together or one
common ground ?

Thanks
