Guys,
There are several openings in Seagate Bangalore for Senior Signal Integrity
Engineers and Staff HW Design Engineers.

Interested applicants can send their resumes to Akshatha Gudikote (
akshatha.gudikote@xxxxxxxxxxx)

Below are the JDs for the roles which will give you the required details.

*Sr. Signal Integrity Engineers*

Leading storage company is looking for a go-getter personality to lead
Signal and Power Integrity efforts for designing their next generation
solutions. The successful candidate will be part of SI/PI team and
participate in the definition of physical layer design for next generation
products. This individual will be part of a larger team with hardware
designers, mechanical, PCB, thermal engineers in creation of next
generation flash storage products.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Working on various high-speed industry standard interfaces applicable for
storage products
- Provide technical leadership within Seagate SI community
- Developing unique signal and power solutions based on design objectives
of performance and cost
- Selection of appropriate signaling and interconnect technology for high
performance interfaces
- Familiar with package and board co-design methodology
- Simulating and/or analyzing the overall design to develop the sensitivity
of each piece of physical layer which will allow design trade-offs
- Generating the routing requirements and electrical margins for specific
interfaces through exhaustive pre-layout analysis to carve out design space
- Power integrity simulations which allows us to optimize the power
distribution network (PDN) resources from chip to VRM
- Root causing/debugging any potential issues in existing interfaces in the
lab
- Coming up with test plans and conducting detailed testing and
measurements to collect data for validation and correlation of analysis to
real world
- Measurement process definition and improvement for better correlation
with simulations
- Through correlations platform and test boards capture variations of
interconnect pieces which can be used in overall interface simulations
- Making recommendations for improvement of interconnect systems
(connectors and cable assemblies)
- Perform detailed design reviews and provide recommendations
- Through analysis come up with guidelines to mitigate EMI from overall
systems
- Come up with required automation or point tools which will augment the SI
methodology
- Develop supporting documents / application notes
- Excellent communication skills, effective interaction with other
engineering discipline skills a must

Skills Required:

Proficiency with statistical and time domain serial link simulation
techniques/methods, field-solver and familiarity with high speed serdes
design, architectures, protocols and modeling methods of high-performance
I/O technologies. In depth understanding of electromagnetics (EM Theory) is
essential.
Experience with available CAD/CAE tools such as Channel Designer, HFSS,
HSPICE, CST, FDTD tools, MoM tools, PowerSI, Ansys SIWave, Agilent
ADS, Agilent
PLTS, Cadence CAD tools or related tools a plus. Experience correlating
simulation results with lab measurements using oscilloscopes, TDRs, VNAs,
and spectrum analyzers is essential.
Capability of scripting/automating the analysis flow with point tools is a
plus. Self motivation, teamwork and strong communication skills are
essential. Overall system knowledge in the domain of storage or servers a
plus.
