Ken,
SI/PI has become more tools & methodology driven in recent years. Some tool
vendors are even putting good effort to visualise the effects and
understand the scenario. (simbeor educational series) . So amount of black
magic has definitely reduced in SI/ PI.
But, There is hardly any tool for EMI/EMC. :).
Thanks for more pointers on good EMC resource..
Thanks.
Sanjeev

Ha ha, to me SI/PI is still âblack magicâ, but EMC/EMI is well understood.
Besides Montroseâs book, here are some suggested books on the subject:
Ott, Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering
Joffe & Lock, Grounds For Grounding (covers MUCH more than the title
suggests)
Morrison, Grounding And Shielding - Circuits And Interference (be sure to
get the latest 6th edition)
Williams, EMC For Product Designers
And for general troubleshooting, with some design and measurement
techniques:
André & Wyatt, EMI Troubleshooting For product Designers

"EMC made simple" by Mark Montrose could be useful resource.
Thanks
