From my understanding, last weeks si list 
distribution challenges may have prevented 
a number of you from seeing this post.  I 
have taken the liberty of reposting this.

Thanks for the help with this.  There's alot
of cool work to be had simulating SI at Dell!!



Hi,

The Dell Servers and Storage Simulation Workgroup
has an immediate opening for a senior level 
Simulation Engineering Consultant.  Interested 
parties should send inquiries to me.

General Summary:

The responsibilities for this position include de-
veloping and qualifying electrical design constraints
defining layout requirements, which ensure signal 
and power integrity for server computer systems. Duties
include all activities necessary to take a design from
concept to production ready prototype, analyzing the 
architectural definition, schematic design and conflicting
layout requirements, working with Systems Engineers, and
ECAD.  Additional duties include working with suppliers
and development/extended team members to identify and 
resolve issues impacting a program's ability to successfully
ship and meet Dell's quality standards.

Pricipal Duties:

Work with component suppliers to obtain necessary 
information, documentation and models to enable 
successful simulation and implementation of defined
topologies.  Identify issues impacting ability to 
simulate and deliver results in a timely fashion.
Perform analysis of electrical designs and simulate
viable routing solutions to define a solution space.
Develop design constraints for interconnect routing.
Identify and include appropriate variables to identify
best and worst case combinations.  Identify contin-
gencies. Work with Systems Engineers and ECAD to ensure
appropriate delivery, understanding and compliance with
design and layout constraints.

Knowledge Skills:

Excellent analytical,problem solving and debugging 
skills.  Detail oriented with attention to product
quality.  Excellent understanding of transmission 
line theory and electromagnetic field theory.  Proficient
with methods and tools for analyzing designs including
but not limited to Specctraquest, Hspice, Ansoft tools,
Apsim tools, etc.  Strong ability to organize and manage
multiple projects, setting priorities and working inde-
pendently under aggressive timelines.  Self Starter with
initiative and ability to successfully negotiate and 
persuade.  Excellent time management, leadership and 
communication skills.  Strong commitment to getting it
right the first time.
