Hi, In a recent class given by Eric Bogatin, a student was puzzled by the ideal transmission line in ADS. Microwave folk specify such a line with electrical length in degrees phase shift at a certain frequency. The student preferred to think in terms of time delay. How to specify the same physical component in terms of nanoseconds delay? I thought the answer might be of general interest to the community so I posted this five-minute video on my blog that shows you how. http://signal-integrity-tips.com/2008/customizing-ads-components-ideal-delay-line/ Hope this helps, -- Colin Solution ... we go viral ... we get on the 'net ... and we blog it out ... http://signal-integrity-tips.com ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List technical documents are available at: http://www.si-list.net List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu
