Teradyne GbX can handle the speed easily and you can get them in 
small sections,perhaps augmenting your existing connector scheme? 
The connectors with well controlled impedance tend to be large by 
design, but it is possible to characterize and run smaller 
connectors at the speeds you are looking at. Characterizing and 
controlling isolation (xtalk) is as important as simple impedance 
control. At 2.5Gbps you can also start benefiting from carefull 
design of the launch into the connector you choose as this often 
causes more signal degradation than the connector itself.
