Srikanth, Do you want to actively share the power supplies or just allow redundant operation? Load sharing is often used to increase the MTBF of the power system and is a bit more complex than sensing around a couple of diodes. Linear, TI, National, and others make "or'ing" controllers. In essence, these controllers modulate the sense voltage drop based on the individual current contribution. They can be tricky because you're adding another control loop to the power supplies. The loop has to be pretty fast if you want the power supplies to share transient demands. Also, several companies offer "ideal diodes" that mimic the transfer characteristics of a diode with a MOSFET but with much lower Vforward (and much less power loss). How can i do that?? Which solution is the best one using a MOSFET solution or a schottky diode solution or any powerpath controller solution??
