Hello, Sanjay,

The answer depends on how tightly you need to control the skew.

High skew option: Route the 5 traces with equal delay without checking
crosstalk. Check delay with a calculator or (better) a simulator.

Low skew option: Equal length and equal numbers of vias to get better
matched delay for the 5 traces. Wide spacing to any adjacent traces, to
reduce (often large) effects from crosstalk. Note that serpentines have
faster delay if the legs are closely spaced, so any serpentines will take
more area. Simulate to check min and max delay with worst-case crosstalk
(all aggressors, not just the nearest ones!).

Really low skew option: Use optical distribution (flat optical "trace"
designed to route signals on boards, together with optical drivers and
receivers). The 5 delays can be very closely matched and will not have
crosstalk effects. Check recent exhibitors at Wescon and DesignCon for
vendors, or use Google. Be prepared to spend $$.

Best regards,
Lynne

Subject: [SI-LIST] Clock Distribution

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED

Hi All,

I have a clock source and I need to distribute to 5 destination points with
same delay. Where can I place the 5 points and in what way source
could be connected to 5 IC's matching length/delay.

This could be helpful for my project if any one suggest me the way to do.

Thanks In Advance

Sanjay
