Navroop,

The VNA calibration sets the measurement plane wherever the standards are
connected to. If your SOL standards are connected at the end of a cable, the
measurements will be referred to that end of the cable.

Subject: [SI-LIST] Calibration VNA question

Hello All,

I am struggling to understand the calibration process of VNA. I am doing
open, short and Load calibration with calibration kit. I understand that
when calibration is done the measurement plane is set to the end of the
coaxial cable.

Here is my dilemma:

When we are doing calibration with a calibration kit , the actual location
of short , open and load point is at some delay from the end of the coaxial
cable ( I have attached coaxial cable which have SMA termination ). Is that
delay is already accounted in the calibration or we have to do port
extension to compensate for that delay ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and opinions.

Regards,

Navroop
