I've been trying EMDS, the plus points are it is cheap, and seems reasonable for the simple structures I have tried. It feels a lot like HFSS to use, unsurprising given the heritage. The downsides are that it does not allow parameter sweeping, you cannot define objects using variables and you cannot script, all of which mean that it is hard to optimise the designs.
