[SI-LIST] Anyone doing 802.3ab 1000BT gigabit ethernet SI testing?

I'm interested to see posts to the list regarding experiences,
methods and test equipment used for testing the signal integrity,
Bit Error Rate Testing (BERT) and cable qualification people
are currently using for Gigabit ethernet boards and devices as=20
well as and cat5/cat5E/cat6 cable used for Gigabit ethernet.

The 802.3ab (PAM5) standard calls out four test modes:
Test mode 1 - Transmit waveform test
Test mode 2 - Transmit jitter test in MASTER mode
Test mode 3 - Transmit jitter test in SLAVE mode
Test mode 4 - Transmitter distortion test

What kind of equipment/results are people seeing doing these=20
tests?

A good reference is George Schroeder's paper from SEMICON=AE West 2002
entitled: "Addressing Emerging Test Challenges For Multilevel Signaling
Devices" - how are people applying this theory?

Please reply to the list.

Thanks,
