We use Cadstar, but we don't use their SI tool. Up to now, I would have considered it to be quite poor, it was supposed to have a termination value advisor, but this just gave a default value of someting like 49 ohms regardless. Not much help, really. Basically I found the tool very limited, I had it for a month and decided it was not worth the money or time for setting up the board. Our boards are not huge, so it's easier for us to just get a proto built and do real testing. They apparently have a new tool coming out, which they say has improved immensely, but at £18000 it would want to have improved. As you must be aware of that the auto router of zuken is one of the best, it is also having High Speed routing, which makes it even more powerful. It is even more useful since it has its own signal integrity module, and we have been using it successfully for doing very complex board. I would definetely suggest you to go for the upgrade of the cadstar and use the same, All the best, John ---------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- Hello all: My name's Rafael. I have a question about PCB design software. I work with an old version of Zuken CadStar to design my PCBs, and I`m thinking in changing to Cadence Allegro. My question is: Is it a good election, or you recommend me another one? Thank you. Rafael. --------------------------------------------------------------- --- To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List FAQ wiki page is located at: http://si-list.org/wiki/wiki.pl?Si-List_FAQ List technical documents are available at: http://www.si-list.org List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
