How much Layer-Layer misregistration can one expect on large and thick panel sizes like a backplane with say 20+ layers? I can see it being held pretty good on double-sided core but how about the other layers? -Bert -----Original Message----- From: si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Havermann, Gert Sent: August-21-13 10:06 AM To: kbmanick@xxxxxxxxx; si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [SI-LIST] AW: effect of finite ground plane on strip line Hi, regarding the document you've stated, the influence on impedance is about the same for stripline and microstrip ans it is shown relative to tracewidth. One additional thing to look at is the effect of Layer misregistration and Layer to Layer crosstalk. I am able to see some reference documents (Pg No 18 - ftp://idc18.seu.edu.cn/Pub2/EBooks/Books_from_EngnetBase/pdf/1835/1835ch02.p df) regarding the effect of finite ground plane on microstrip. But I could not get the same for strip line case. I expect the support from members. -- Best Regards, Balamanikandan.K ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List forum is accessible at: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List forum is accessible at: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu ----- No virus found in this message.
