A silly question? Yes to those whose life revolves around simulations, but to
those who work with equipment, this is a very critical question. I was
fortunate to have a on sight standards lab who gave me an invaluable education
about NIST Tractability and I have taken an MIT course on Measurement. I had
an ATE tester that we calibrated using a 3ns transmission line. This
transmission like was validated by NIST each year.

At Keysight we use NIST traceable standards to calibrate the instruments :).
NIST has a few ways to measure femto-seconds and claims they can go down to 10
femto-seconds.

I gauge it by gut feel.

Subject: [SI-LIST] A silly question about accuracy of oscilliscope
Dear all
This is absolutely a silly question but I just want to dive in depth.
Some oscilloscope vendors claim the accuracy of their instruments can be as
small as about dozens of femtosecond.
My question is how to gauge so small accuracy? What kind of instrument can be
used to measure these fs-level oscilloscopes?
thanks
