Except that dandelion greens won't make anyone sick! So long as you only use the young dandelions, they don't have to be cooked at all and are STILL a great addition to any tossed salad...the leaves especially. They are actually good for you...full of iron, so especially good for people who tend to be aenemic. Just pick the very new shoots. When they grow bigger they are tough, bitter, and stringy and nobody would eat them. I still try to put some into salads every now and then...but only baby leaves.
