In 2011 Germany allowed Coarse coated Long coats (We must be close tothe SV
standard to
be alalowed to compete at WUSV - this is extremely important to the WDA) AKC
says NO
VARIETIES OF BREEDS. Since long coats are not a DK, a work around of
conditional class
can be used.
Also with respect to White, if we listed that as a variety (if that option were
even available), the
DQ would STILL have to removed from the standard
AKC no longer allows varieties, PERIOD.
Changing the GSD standard is a 5 year process. It should not be entered into
lightly
