Are YOU KIDDING ME??? Throw away a few Grand Victors I guess.....and .more
than a few Selects and a WHOLE LOTTA CHAMPIONS! <G> and about 45%
or more of the dogs on some old timey pedigrees. Let's not even get into and
occasional WHITE TOE! Sure glad we have a reasonable Standard.
Obviously if they became "huge" issues that would be a different story...but
most
are so small and blend in so that they are seldom even noticed. They are
like any
other small 'flaw'....something we keep an eye on for further breeding...but as
Linda Terry said....this is such a small unimportant issue it isn't even
addressed
in the Standard.

I am sorry but the white patch is really offensive :0) Considering that the
white dog is a disqualification.
The white patch should be considered a serious fault.

true. My solid black male has a white patch on his chest, but he is also the
grandson of my CH bi-color male who had a white patch on his chest. I've also
noticed that many of the black and tans that I've seen have white on their
chests, but it is much harder to see because it blends in more with the tan

I believe "some" of ALL the colors in our Breed have an occasional white patch

Even the solid blacks.

Of course, some of our bi-colors have a patch of our white on their chests. So
technically I guess you could call them tri-colors. LOL. Fortunately, it
doesn't take away from their beauty and most judges overlook it since the
standard doesn't really address it.
