Question for yo Julie,
Do the Germans refer to whites as American GSD's ? Someone told me that and I
don't know if it is true or not.

I saw PLENTY of white toes in Germany at the Sieger show this year. I also
saw lots of young dogs at the German kennels with white toes. The most white
(besides the Panda shepherd) that I've seen on an adult GSD was from
Germany....white all the way up to the pasterns. Of course, the white is made
more
obvious when you have good rich pigmentation. When you have the fading tans
into fading feet, it's not so obvious.
Personally, I feel that there are a lot worse problems in our breed today,
mainly temperament! Lately, I have seen so many dogs with weak temperaments,
shy, sharp, dog aggressive, etc., plus dogs that are dying young from health
issues, dogs that look like bitches, weak ears, curly tails, etc.....I'd
rather have a white toe than some of these other issues ANY day!
