I was not there so my comment is - ahem - moot -
However, in my opinion - yes - I'd much rather see us
protected than a dog that will back down when WE
are threatened. I've said many times that if a Chihuahua
were the size of a Great Dane the whole world would
be in trouble. No fear there -- I've lived with all kinds
and see that the formative time for a dog is generally
seen in some up to 3 yrs. of age. Environment has so
much to do with development. I've seen littermates in
many breeds that are different as night and day and I'm
sure most of you have as well. Roll of the dice - many
experiences will somehow stay with the dog for a long
time, good or bad, and they'll react the same way until
shown carefully, that the situation is really Ok. nr
