[ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: whelping area

I gave a very private 1/2 story tall, 2 car attached garage right off the
laundry/mud room that can be heated or cooled. There is an intercom system
through the house.
I have enough doors around here that during the time mom is with her babies,
another dog doesn't set foot in the 2 car garage. From the garage, when old
enough and weather permitting, the babies have access to a separate outdoor
paddock.
As for why? I want "mom" to feel she has all of the privacy in the world.
I bring babies in the house once they are old enough to toddle a few at a
time and they meet the other dogs, learn all about household noises, different
flooring materials, but in the beginning, mom's privacy is paramount.
One we're through w/ puppies the pen/whelping box is stowed away and I can
sanitize/steam clean the floor. Nice set up:)
