I whelp them in my office next to my computer. It has a hardwood floor covered by area rugs that I just pull up and cover with a tarp. I had a sliding door installed on one wall that leads outside to a side yard separate from the other dogs. It accomodates a Johnson door when I have a litter for mom to go in and out. The other wall goes to the master bath that is a walk thru to the master bedroom. There's a day bed in there for me to sleep on and a TV for noise. I have a 4x4 whelping box, but MoonDance decided she wanted to whelp her Army litter on/in/around/under the daybed. Robert was on puppy watch that night because I had tickets to see Barry Manilow with some girl friends. Of course she would pick that night to whelp (I think she knows she can get away with anything with him). I shudder when I remember the mess I came home to find.
