I have watched this with great interest. The whole food issue, from Diamond to
allergies and all.

I just had one of my dogs tested. He shows allergic to EVERTHING I was
feeding him. On the approved list is Nutro's Natural Choice Lamb and Rice. I
have given up on canned food as I cannot get an approved can for less than the
cost of fresh ground beef from Wild Oats. I eat it myself, yes, raw. So I
know it is safe for the dogs.

I put both Kit and Liddy on it, since she MIGHT be preggers and he is the one
who needs it. I am switching my old man when he runs out of the current food,
but he eats senior stuff as he is neutered and gains weight easily.

All I can say so far is that Kit eats faster and with more interest than
ever. But time will tell if this is what he needs.

I know from human food allergy issues that it is wise to 'challenge'
allergies from time to time. This is to introduce a previously off limits food
and see what happens.

After I get Kit in shape I will challenge him with chicken first. I want to
see if he can eat it or not.

My son is allergic to corn, but he never reacts in any way from eating it.
He is also allergic to cats, yet he plays with the neighbor's cat all the time
and does not seem to suffer. When it come to pollen and mold, it is easy to
tell he is allergic. He cannot keep his nose clear at times.

So, I will let everyone know how it goes with Kit and the new food. If he
continues to eat well and improves in condition overall, I will know that he
really does benifit from the limited diet. If, later he can tollerate some of
what they say is off the list, I will know that allergy or not, it is not
severe.

In the meantime, Liddy shows all the signs I remember from my youth that the
breeding took. But only the end of February will tell the whole truth.

  Best to one and all,
  Sheila

I've been using Canidae for about eight months. I had tried Innova, Nutro,
Eukanuba and Pro Plan. It seems to be the best for all concerned to have
healthy stools, and they like it. If you're in the breeder's program, you can
get one free bag after you buy five. My pups, adults and seniors can eat the
same food. Their breath is good and their coats look great.
