If it's just running then why bother getting a conformation dog at all? It's pretty obvious you don't care about it. Why not just stick to working lines? If you have dogs or a dog with schutzhund and herding titles, why not show that dog in conformation? There are people who would like to do more performance work...but they are too busy and have chosen to concentrate their efforts on conformation. Some lucky people can manage to do both...others can't. Still, I don't believe there are many successful competitors in the conformation ring who think "it's just...running." Wait till you try it and see if you still think that.
