please forward this to all you know who show in west palm beach. this
happened on saturday at the obedience trial in wpb.
on saturday, there was a bead and necklace show in conjunction with the
obedience trial. a off duty animal control officer was there and saw a dog
in a
van with the doors wide open and a fan while the owner was inside the
building. the officer called animal control and they started combing thru
the parking
lot for dogs in vans. this particular person was given a warning, and they
were inquiring if she lived in WPB and her dogs reproductive status.
the president of the club asked where is the written law animals cannot be
kept in a car if well ventilated. they did not produce it and said no dogs
in
car, regardless...even if a/c is on. they were giving out warnings and had
the club post up signs reading no dogs in parked cars.
was this coincidence or warning of things to come?
sunday, i did not see any officers, but the club warned us against leaving
dogs in cars even if loading or unloading and the a/c was on/doors
open/ect.
just keeping you informed.

I was the person singled out by animal control for having a dog unattended
in my van. The van was wide open, side door and back doors, the crate was
facing the rear and I have an Astro van so the rear doors were locked.
This dog
was not entered in the show and that is why she was in the van. I received
a warning ticket and I took the dog inside. Animal control was all over
the
parking lot, I did mention to the AC officer that her time might be better
spent investigating people who really were abusing their dogs. They also
questioned me as to whether my dog was spayed or neutered and did I live
in Palm
Beach County, thankfully the answer to both questions was NO.
